Disclaimer

StockIntel is a financial technology provider, not a registered broker-dealer or investment advisor. We provide API order routing infrastructure exclusively and do not provide, host, or endorse automated trading algorithms or bots. Users are solely responsible for their own custom applications, trading logic, and ensuring strict compliance with all SECP and PSX regulations. Programmatic trading carries inherent technological and financial risks; StockIntel assumes no liability for algorithmic malfunctions, system outages, or market losses. All trade execution, clearing, and custody services are handled directly by your connected, SECP-regulated brokerage firm.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know to get started and use StockIntel with confidence.

Is there an API available for programmatic trading and order routing on the PSX?
StockIntel provides the first unified Trading API for the Pakistan Stock Exchange. Developers, quantitative analysts, and institutional desks can stream live PSX market data, place orders programmatically across multiple connected brokers, query portfolio and execution state, and access historical data through a single infrastructure integration point. The API is documented at trading.stockintel.com with reference, code samples, and a public sandbox.
Do I need separate integrations for each PSX broker?
No. StockIntel acts solely as a unified broker gateway and routing layer. Write your code once against the StockIntel API, and your application can route orders to any of our connected SECP-licensed brokers — no separate broker integrations to write or maintain. The same connection, the same login, and the same data format work across every broker.
How do I connect, and is it secure?
The API is a modern real-time streaming connection secured with TLS. You generate your access tokens from your StockIntel dashboard — a sandbox token for testing and a live token for real trading — and connect using the token. Orders, cancellations, and live updates all flow over that one secure connection. Live trading adds an extra layer of protection: the first time you connect (or periodically), you confirm a one-time code sent to your email before any trading is enabled. Testing in the sandbox never requires this step.
What market data does the API provide?
Today the API gives you everything around your trading activity in real time: live order status as each order moves from submitted to filled (or cancelled or rejected), your account balances, buying power, and positions, and the current trading-session status for each market. Live market quotes and order-book (Level 2) data are coming soon as an upcoming addition to the API.
Is the data consistent across brokers?
Yes. Behind the scenes, each broker's raw data is normalized into one clean, consistent format. Your application works with a single set of fields for accounts, positions, orders, and executions — no matter which broker is handling the trade. One format to learn, not a different one per broker.
Can my application route orders across multiple brokers?
Yes. If you connect multiple broker accounts to the same StockIntel developer profile, your custom application can route each order to a specific broker based on your own logic, account balance, or custom routing rules. All routing decisions are made entirely by your code; StockIntel merely exposes the per-broker state (balance, purchasing power, positions) and provides the pipes to execute your instructions.
Who is responsible for algorithmic trading compliance and SECP/PSX regulations?
As a technology provider, StockIntel supplies the API routing infrastructure but does not provide, host, or endorse automated trading algorithms. In accordance with SECP and PSX guidelines on algorithmic trading, the end-user (and their connected broker) is solely responsible for ensuring that all custom trading logic, order frequencies, and algorithmic strategies comply with regulatory requirements, including any necessary algorithm registration or conformance testing required by the exchange.
Can the API power portfolio management and institutional platforms?
Yes. The API is built for institutional use — portfolio management systems, automated trade allocation across many client accounts, and multi-account aggregation. You can place and cancel orders across every connected account, follow executions as they happen, and pull up-to-date balances and positions, all through one unified interface.
What can I do outside PSX trading hours?
You can review your order history, check account balances and positions, and look up the current trading-session status at any time your connection is open. Placing and cancelling live orders is tied to market hours — those activate when the relevant PSX session is open. The sandbox is available around the clock for testing.
Is there a sandbox for testing before going live?
The sandbox environment provides a full replica of the production API — same endpoints, same data schemas, same WebSocket streams — running against simulated market data and virtual funds. Test order placement, error handling, reconnection logic, and integration stability without risking capital.
What programming languages can I use with the API?
Practically any modern language. The API is based on widely supported, standard streaming technology, and we publish a schema you can use to generate a ready-made client in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, Java, C++, C#, Rust, Ruby, Kotlin, and more. We also provide a reference client you can use to explore the API interactively before you build your own.
Which PSX brokers can I route orders to through the API?
Currently supported brokers: Munir Khanani Securities (TREC #084), Chase Securities (TREC #526), Yasir Mahmood Securities (TREC #294), and Zahid Latif Khan Securities (TREC #410). All are SECP-licensed PSX TREC-holders. Additional broker integrations are in development — see the Supported Brokers page for the live list and roadmap.
Is the StockIntel API free, and how does pricing work?
StockIntel starts with a 30-day free trial — full API access including the sandbox, live trading across all connected brokers, and account and order data, with no card details required to begin. After the trial ends, there are two paths to continued access:
  • Free, unlocked by a partner-broker account — open a trading account with one of our featured partner brokers — Munir Khanani Securities, Chase Securities, Yasir Mahmood Securities, or Zahid Latif Khan Securities — directly through StockIntel, and full API access unlocks free of charge for as long as the account remains active.
  • Subscription, using your existing broker — if you prefer to keep your existing broker account, you can continue using the API via a monthly subscription.
