The StockIntel API uses REST for synchronous operations (order placement, portfolio queries, historical data, account state) and WebSocket for live streaming (real-time prices, Level 2 order book updates, PUCARS announcements, order status events). All payloads are JSON. Authentication uses scoped API keys generated from your StockIntel account dashboard. API gateway round-trip latency is typically under 50ms (p95), measured from request submission to response within StockIntel's infrastructure. End-to-end latency to the PSX matching engine depends on broker API performance and your network path. StockIntel targets 99.9% uptime, with status and incident history at status.stockintel.com.

Raw broker data is normalized into a single, consistent schema — clean JSON for historical fundamentals, Level 2 order books, tick streams, and corporate actions — regardless of which broker is routing your execution. This means your code consumes one data format and one set of field names, not four different broker dialects.

Yes. If you connect multiple broker accounts to the same StockIntel developer profile, your custom application can route each order to a specific broker based on your own logic, account balance, or custom routing rules. All routing decisions are made entirely by your code; StockIntel merely exposes the per-broker state (balance, purchasing power, positions) and provides the pipes to execute your instructions.

Who is responsible for algorithmic trading compliance and SECP/PSX regulations?

As a technology provider, StockIntel supplies the API routing infrastructure but does not provide, host, or endorse automated trading algorithms. In accordance with SECP and PSX guidelines on algorithmic trading, the end-user (and their connected broker) is solely responsible for ensuring that all custom trading logic, order frequencies, and algorithmic strategies comply with regulatory requirements, including any necessary algorithm registration or conformance testing required by the exchange.

Yes. The API is designed for institutional use cases including portfolio management systems, risk management platforms, automated trade allocation engines, and multi-account aggregation. Asset managers can automate trade allocation across client accounts, synchronize balances and positions in real time, and monitor consolidated risk across multiple connected brokers — all through the same unified API surface.

Historical data, portfolio queries, account state, executed-trade history, and sandbox endpoints are available 24/7. Live market data streams and order placement endpoints are session-bound — they activate when the PSX is open. Pre-market and post-market windows have specific endpoint availability documented in the API reference; for example, end-of-day reconciliation queries and overnight position snapshots are accessible after the regular session closes.

Is there a sandbox for testing before going live?

The sandbox environment provides a full replica of the production API — same endpoints, same data schemas, same WebSocket streams — running against simulated market data and virtual funds. Test order placement, error handling, reconnection logic, and integration stability without risking capital.

The API uses standard REST and WebSocket protocols with JSON payloads, so any language with HTTP and WebSocket client support works — Python, Node.js, JavaScript, Go, Rust, C++, Java, C#, and others. Official client libraries for Python and Node.js are available with full type hints; for other languages, the API can be consumed directly via standard HTTP and WebSocket libraries. Currently supported brokers: Munir Khanani Securities (TREC #084), Chase Securities (TREC #526), Yasir Mahmood Securities (Private) Limited (TREC #294), and Zahid Latif Khan Securities (Private) Limited (TREC #410). Free, unlocked by a partner-broker account: open a trading account with one of our featured partner brokers — Munir Khanani, Chase, Yasir Mahmood, or Zahid Latif Khan — directly through StockIntel, and full API access unlocks free of charge for as long as the account remains active. Subscription, using your existing broker: continue using the API via a monthly subscription. Standard PSX trading costs — brokerage commission, CDC charges, CGT, and SECP regulatory fees — are levied by your broker on each programmatic execution, exactly as they would be on any manually placed trade.
